What are some names of US space missions?

Space has been such a fun topic for my little guys this year! They have loved learning about the solar system and everything rocket related. So of course space ships were a must. For this printable, I have color coded the space stars with the ship color to create a matching concept. It’s pretty simple and straight forward, so the focus stays on the memory work but in a way that still captivates their attention.

What are the states of matter?

With the cold season fully upon us, I couldn’t resist a piping hot cup of coco!! And I was so happy with how this science printable turned out. You start with an empty mug, and fill in the pieces as you recite the memory terms. So easy and fun!

What are two forms of energy?

Nothing says energy more than fireworks! You could go about this science printable several ways. I opted to keep the fireworks grouped together but the explosions separate. You could cut them all individually and match them while reciting terms, or keep them grouped and place over the term space. However works best for you and your little one.

What is Newton’s first law of motion?

At first, I was at a loss for how to communicate this concept to my little ones. But once darts popped into my head, I knew it was a winner! Because I was working with a longer definition rather than bullet point terms, I had to get creative. So I incorporated three word groupings into the target. And will have them pin the dart over the portion they recite.

What is Newton’s second law of motion?

As a boy mom, it was pretty much essential to include vehicles in these science printables. Again I kept it pretty straight forward and put the memory phrase onto the trucks. There was some intentional thought about the sizing of the vehicles. I’m no science genius but I’m sure you amazing mamas can find the perfect way to explain the relationship between size and the equation of force.

What is Newton’s third law of motion?

The rockets were so fun, I had to include them in these science printables a second time. This one was also a little tricky so I’ll explain the concept a little. In my head I imagine explaining to my little one that with a larger combustion, there is a greater reaction. So the rocket goes highest with the largest flames. And each rockets gets placed over the wording as it’s recited.

What is the first law of thermodynamics?

How adorable are these beakers?!! I know thermodynamics is about heat, and while I was researching it also mentioned chemicals. So I opted for the beakers on these science printables. And will have my little one recite the words as he places the beakers.

What is the second law of thermodynamics? (Law of entropy)

I don’t know about you, but when I think heat my brain jumps to fire! So I thought it would be so fun to help explain this law of thermodynamics by building a camp fire. You add a little more to the fire with each part of the law they recite. A great way to finish the explanation, is showing them which way the flames (heat) go.

What is the third law of thermodynamics?

Absolute zero is pretty cold, and what cold thing do kiddos love more than ice cream!! So for this science printable, we are making a fun ice cream sunday! Every scoop of ice cream (from largest to smallest) adds a little more to the definition.

What are some ways light is observed?

Light bulb!!! Lol hopefully that’s how these next science printables click with my little ones. Observed can be a tough word for some kiddos so I went with a light bulb to help them visualize the concept. And added the memory terms to each bulb so they can recite them as they get “screwed in”. If you’re feeling super ambitious, you can cut a slit in the bottom of each black square after laminating and then the twist portion of the bulb can actually be put into the socket.

How does heat flow?

Like I said, heat means flames in my head. So for these science printables I did candles to compliment the previous campfire heat science printable. Your little one can light each candle as they recite the terms!

What units are used to measure electricity?

At first, I was tempted to use light bulbs or electronic devices for this science printable. But then I realized I wanted an expansive perspective for my little ones, so I went for the most raw form of electricity, LIGHTNING!!!
