Science Printables

Science Printables

Vol. 1

My oldest is starting Kindergarten this year, and we are so excited! He has been running around telling everyone that there are only a few more days until school starts. I’m so thankful for his enthusiasm to learn and start his education journey! I did not always share his same passion as a kid, especially when it came to science. That’s why I created these Science Printables to encourage his love for learning!

As a family, we decided to home school our little ones. It was a tough decision, because I don’t consider myself an exceptionally patient, organized, or schedule oriented person! But life is about constantly learning and growing right?!

After we made the decision to home school, I started brainstorming teaching and curriculum ideas to help me be a better teacher and also encourage my little one to love learning!

I absolutely fell in love with the Science Printables I created and just had to share them with you guys! I’m so excited to start school and begin using them. I created printable worksheets that I cut out and laminated. Once laminated, I put Velcro dots on the back of all the cutouts so it’s easy for little hands to work with.

These are an introductory level of information and are great for the Kindergarten or first grade level. Some of them are very basic and only involve placing pictures on the worksheet. Others will need a little help from parents if the student isn’t capable of reading yet. I always try to use materials that are easy and make my littles feel proud of what they can accomplish on their own. But, also integrating harder work that will challenge them.

Without any further adieu, I give you SCIENCE PRINTABLES!!

Classifications of Living Things

This footprint matching work sheet is a great way to start introducing science terms. I numbered each class so they can be memorized in the scientific order.

Kingdoms of Living Things

This is another easy matching worksheet. It can be used by non-readers who can match the colors and start working on word recognition. Or readers can work on their own.

Major Groups of Invertebrates

CONFESSION: I did not spell check as thoroughly as I had thought. In the pictures, Invertebrates is misspelled but it has been corrected in the printable.

A neighborhood theme seemed appropriate for these groups, and I absolutely LOVE how they turned out! These do not have to be placed in a particular order. So they’re easy for your little learners to place as you read them aloud.

Major Groups of Vertebrates

CONFESSION: I did not spell check as thoroughly as I had thought. In the pictures, Vertebrates is misspelled but it has been corrected in the printable.

Again, I love the neighborhood theme, so I followed it through to the Vertebrates as well. You could even shuffle the two sets together and let your student differentiate them (the trees will help with this).

Some Ways Animals Reproduce

This will be a fun one to explain to your littles! I left out the definitions because I thought it would work best for each of us to explain to our children in our own ways. The important memory work here is just the main terms Live Birth, Budding, Fragmentation, and Eggs. It’s a great start and introduction!

Some Types of Seed Plants

Here’s one that’s a little more interactive. I created these to be shuffled up and have my student count the petals and place on the appropriate stem. No reading necessary, just basic counting skills.

Some Parts of a Plant

If you’re like me and like to avoid messes, this will be a way better daily tool than pulling a plant out of the ground each day. Although, I totally encourage you to go with the real life version at least once with your littles. But be sure to tell them it’s not nice to pull up all of mommy’s nice flowers!!

Some Parts of a Flower

Science Printables

If you don’t have readers yet, this will require some parent participation. I made this one a little more challenging by leaving the labels empty (not matching like previous worksheets). Ideally, I will be giving my son the term and asking him to put it in the correct place.

Some Plant Systems

Another one of my favorites (probably because of all the flowers!). These will be great during winter when it starts to get dreary! I wanted these to be more about the system comprehension than difficulty. I tried to make the worksheets reflect the processes defined.

Time To Learn!

My little learner has been so excited about these Science Printables! I’ve had to hide them until school starts to build anticipation and not let the excitement fade! There was a ton of cutting to prepare these, but it will be so worth it. Hopefully they will encourage my kindergartner to love and appreciate the exploration and discovery of science this school year!

Here is the link to my Printable Shop, where you can purchase your own pdf copies!! This was the first set of Science Printables. I will be adding Vol. 2 over Christmas break! 1. Hi, thank you for all this work.
Do you have animal cells and plant cells?

  2. Love these. We do classical conversations and they go great with them. I don’t see animal cell, plant cell, invertebrates or vertebrates. Have you made those? or am I just overlooking them?

    thanks πŸ™‚

    1. now i see vertebraes and invertabrates πŸ™‚

its animal cell and plant cell i dont see.

  3. These are amazing. My children are past this age but I will definitely be sharing with friends!! Awesome job!!

  4. Omg these are so beautiful! My stepdaughter is an ESL student in middle school, but I think these would be great for her to help her learn the basics. She attends public school, but I’ve been also trying to implement some lessons at home to hopefully get her to her peers’ level soon.

  5. These are so cute! My twins just started 1st grade and these would still be great for them to use at home.

  6. This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while! Not only does it help the littles, but it sure revives my elementary science knowledge!! Love these printables!
